MISA licence
For an Indian investor, the MISA filing and the ODI filing are two halves of one job. Your AD bank issues the UIN and handles the Indian reporting; we prepare your Indian papers for Saudi use, file the MISA registration under your power of attorney and give your bank the Saudi documents it needs.
The short answerAn Indian company, LLP or resident individual gets a MISA licence, now MISA investment registration, by filing apostilled Indian documents with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment. On the Indian side the investment is an ODI: it goes through one designated AD bank, which issues a UIN for the Saudi company before money moves.
Two filings, one timeline
An Indian investor runs two filings side by side: MISA registration in Riyadh, which we handle, and the ODI with one AD bank, handled by your bank and CA. Your Form FC goes to that bank and the UIN comes before any money moves. The MISA side starts only once your Indian papers carry the MEA apostille.

| Stage | In India (your AD bank and CA) | In Saudi Arabia (us) |
|---|---|---|
| Before filing | Board resolution; choose one AD bank | Activity checked against MISA's rules |
| Documents | MEA apostille through outsourced agencies | Arabic translation, MISA application |
| Approval | Form FC filed; UIN issued before money moves | MISA approval; fee paid within 15 business days |
| After | Evidence of investment within six months; APR by 31 December | Commercial Registration, then activation |
What we handle
MISA work for an Indian company or LLP starts with the activity check and the filing. It also covers the Saudi papers your AD bank needs for the UIN and, later, for the evidence of investment.

New Indian shareholders or a capital change recorded with MISA, then on the CR.
Numbers to plan with
Indian investors plan around two Indian limits, 400% of net worth for a company's ODI and USD 250,000 a year under LRS for individuals. On the Saudi side, the clock is MISA's own, and once MISA approves, the Saudi subsidiary for your Indian company moves to the CR.
Papers from India
An Indian company registering with MISA sends six documents from its MCA file and board. MISA's 2026 guide names two of them outright: the investor's commercial registration and its financial statements for the last fiscal year, plus the parent's registration if your Indian company is owned by a company of another nationality. LLPs and resident individuals send different papers, noted below.
An LLP sends its incorporation papers, LLP agreement and a partners' resolution instead. Resident individuals send a passport and a bank reference. Co-investors from outside India follow our MISA registration guide for foreign investors.
MISA questions from India
Yes, it replaced the licence in February 2025. Indian investors still register with MISA before forming the company.
No, MISA looks at the investor and the activity. The ODI is handled by your AD bank, which needs our Saudi documents for its own filings.
They run in parallel. Your AD bank files Form FC to get the UIN, which must be in place before any remittance, so in practice after MISA and the CR.
An Indian LLP invests as an Indian entity and registers with MISA the same way a company does.
Software and IT services carry no MISA minimum capital, so an Indian IT company sets capital by its own business plan.
MISA aims for 10 working days once the file is complete. Getting the MEA apostille in India usually takes longer than MISA's own review.
MISA asks for its fee on approval; it is payable within 15 business days, and an annual update fee follows. We quote the confirmed figure.
Across India
MISA filings are made online, so Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kochi all follow the same route. We book calls in IST, two and a half hours ahead of Riyadh. The whole route, from ODI to Iqama, is on our Saudi company formation from India page.
