A Saudi bank account for your Indian-owned company, ready for the ODI remittance

Your ODI capital needs somewhere to land, and the Saudi account is also the evidence your AD bank will ask for. We build the bank file, our own employee in Saudi Arabia books and attends the appointment, and your signatory makes one trip.

  • One trip for the signatory
  • Evidence for your AD bank
  • Fixed fee, scope in writing

The short answerAn Indian-owned Saudi company opens its corporate bank account after the Commercial Registration, with the CR, articles, MISA certificate, National Address and signatory IDs. The ODI capital is usually remitted through your AD bank once the account is open, and the Saudi papers then serve as the evidence of investment due within six months.

Account to evidence

From the bank file to your ODI evidence

For an Indian-owned Saudi company the bank account is also an ODI milestone. The capital goes out through your AD bank once the account opens, and the Saudi papers become your evidence of investment within six months. The account itself can only open after the Saudi subsidiary is registered.

The bank file

What a Saudi bank asks an Indian-owned company for

A Saudi bank asks an Indian-owned company for its Saudi registration papers and signatory IDs, plus a source-of-funds file. For an Indian parent, that file is the ODI route and the parent's own statements.

The rules on both sides

The RBI and SAMA rules behind the account

Two regulators shape an Indian-owned Saudi account: the RBI, whose 2022 overseas investment directions set the UIN and six-month evidence rules, and SAMA, which told Saudi banks in 2023 to accept apostilled foreign documents.

Banking questions from India

Saudi bank accounts for Indian owners: your questions

Does the signatory have to travel?

The signatory usually travels once, because Saudi banks normally meet the authorised signatory in person.

When does the ODI money leave India?

Usually once the Saudi account is open, with the UIN already issued by your AD bank.

What counts as evidence of investment?

Documents such as the share certificate or the Saudi registration papers, submitted through your AD bank within six months.

Will the bank accept Indian papers?

Yes, when apostilled. SAMA's 2023 instruction to Saudi banks covers apostilled papers, so your MEA-apostilled documents are accepted.

Can we use two AD banks?

No. All transactions for one foreign entity go through the single AD bank you designate.

Is account approval guaranteed?

No bank can promise that; the bank decides. We guarantee a complete file and a fixed fee.

Across India

Bank files for owners anywhere in India

Everything before the bank meeting is done from India by PDF and video call in IST; the signatory travels once. With the account open, the next step is the Iqama for your Indian general manager. Owners from other countries can use our Saudi corporate bank account guide, and the India overview shows the full route.
